The Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum is pleased to be a part of the first ever West Austin Studio Tour!

Who? You?! We will have a large number of professional plein air and other painters scattered throughout the garden, inspired by the sculptures of Charles Umlauf and the beauty of spring. Everyone is welcome to come watch the activity! This is a family-friendly event, and we’ll have basic art supplies for our youngest visitors to use.
WhAT? “Plein Air @ the Umlauf”, an official free event on the West Austin Studio Tour, and an afternoon of live painting at an Austin landmark.
WhEN? Saturday, May 19, 1:30-3:30PM. WEST itself runs all weekend, but our participation in the tour is limited to the one afternoon. We are open from 1PM – 4:30PM but most of the plein air activity will be during the event hours.
WHERE? At the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, 605 Robert E Lee, 78704.
WHY? To introduce visitors to the Umlauf, and of course to the work of several local artists! We envision a garden full of artists working, and a beautiful day for both participants and spectators. Please note that artists will not be selling pieces, but will of course be encouraged to chat with visitors and talk about their work.
